At the age of 14, he decided to adopt an intensive routine of 6-hour studies in a self-taught way, which resulted two years later in his approval for the piano course at the Itajaí Conservatory of Popular Music – where he had the opportunity to deepen his knowledge in rhythms such as jazz, blues, bossa nova, baião and Brazilian popular music in general.
